Description

This book presents the full scope of the FFA AS202 Bravo—a renowned aircraft that served as the starting point for many pilots’ aviation careers. It chronicles the aircraft’s history, covering everything from its initial development and the four-aircraft formation team to the Swiss “Bravo Group.” It was also the primary trainer that played a pivotal role in the transition from tailwheel to nosewheel flight training starting in 1972.

The author, Beat Neuenschwander, is an aviation enthusiast through and through. Over the course of 54 years, he flew a wide variety of military and civilian aircraft as both a professional military pilot and a civilian pilot. He transitioned to the FFA AS202 Bravo in the spring of 1975 while serving as a military FVS inspector. Over the next 25 years—first as an FVS inspector and later as the leader of the legendary Mösli Team—he gained extensive flight experience with this aircraft type. After retiring from the Air Force, he acquired the FFA AS202 Bravo HB-HFX (formerly owned by Alpar AG) and continued flying it for another 13 years across Switzerland, France, and Germany. In this book, he shares a selection of his experiences with the Bravo, offering readers a vivid, hands-on account of his time with the aircraft.
